Playstation 1: Audiophile Quality CD Player?
Naturally, I’m a bit skeptical of this so I decided to take my old PS1 out, dust it off and give it a listen. I connected the RCA cables from the AV Multi Out to an RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack converter and plugged it into my CMoy amp, plugged in my RE0s and gave it a listen.
Surprisingly, this is a pretty good sounding player, even to my untrained (relatively speaking) ears. The overall sound is on the warm side and some of the lower level details are smoothed over because of this.
